Brian graduated from Auburn University on May 11, 2006 with a degree in Political Science and was commissioned as an Ensign into the United States Navy on the same day.

During his ten years on active duty he served on three different classes of ship, deploying twice to the Persian Gulf and once to Southeast Asia. Brian served as First Lieutenant on USS Gettysburg CG-64 (Guided Missile Cruiser), Operations Officer on USS Defender MCM-2 (Mine Countermeasures Ship), and Operations Officer on USS Arleigh Burke DDG-51 (Guided Missile Destroyer).

Brian also served on the faculty of Villanova University as an Instructor of Naval Science where he earned a nomination as Naval Service Training Command’s Instructor of the Year. While at Villanova he was honored with the “Junior Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching” for 2013. This award is presented to a faculty member who has been in a full time position for less than seven years and has developed extraordinarily effective teaching approaches. To date, he is the only non-PhD to win the award. He also earned his Master of Arts in Political Science from Villanova in 2012.

In 2015 Brian left active duty and joined the Navy Reserve. He partnered with his Uncle at Pultro Financial Management as a Financial Planner and obtained professional certifications as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA), and Registered Financial Consultant (RFC). Brian also earned the “Ethics Certified” designation from the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC).

The Navy called Brian back to active duty in June 2018 where he served as a Strategic Planner in the Iran Branch at United States Central Command Headquarters in Tampa, Florida for one year. Brian currently holds the rank of Commander and is a Staff Officer at Carrier Strike Group Four in Virginia.

In his free time Brian spends as much time as possible with his wife, three sons, and two golden retriever rescues. He is a board member of the Auburn University Alumni Association, the Villanova University Alumni Association, and serves on the LPL Financial Government Relations Advisory Council.
